  1. There are 32 players - one for each pro team. Each player will be matched up with a pro team at the Kickoff Party.

  2. Each week (NFL weeks 1 thru 17) you'll pick the winners of 17 games from a schedule of 17 - 21 pro and college games (straight up - no point spread). If there's more than 17 games to choose from, you throwout your choice of games in excess of 17.

  3. Then you rank your 17 teams based upon your confidence that they will win.

  4. After you rank your picks, you'll submit them on the website. You can submit them anytime between Mon morn (when you know the slate of college games) and 6pm Wed (the deadline). If you want to change your picks, you can submit them as many times as you like. Only your latest submission will count.

  5. Everybody's picks will be available on the website Sat morn around 9 along with The Wizard. Or, you can pick them up in advance at the Weekly Huddle on Thu eve.

  6. A really neat feature is that you don't have to wait until all the games are over to find out the final weekly scores and who the weekly winners are. You can find out in advance from the What If.

  7. After all games have been played (usually after the Mon Nite Football game), weekly scores are finalized, tiebreakers resolved, head-to-head victories confirmed, weekly stats computed, and weekly bottlecaps awarded. All these results will be available on the website around 6pm Tue.

Well as of 2017 we now have the FYSMD/P computer pick all Team assignments. But you can have your own party if you want!

Throwouts
You will throwout any games (pro and/or college) in access of 17 - whichever ones you choose. College games and # of throwouts will be posted on the website as well as sent via email every Mon morn around 9.

Rank by Confidence
You will rank your 17 teams each week according to the following point values: 25,20,15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. That's 17 places to put your 17 teams. If you think a game will be a blowout, rank it at 25. If you think it will be a really close game, rank it at 1. If you don't have a clue, throw it out. When a team you picked wins, you get no points. This is good because points are bad. Low score wins. When a team you picked loses, you are penalized the corresponding point value.

Submitting Picks
You must submit your weekly picks via the website. No phones, faxes, emails, etc. Picks will not be accepted after the deadline. The only time you will be allowed to submit your picks by email is if the website is experiencing technical problems. Even then, emailed picks must still be submitted before the deadline.

A word about the website form. It's a smart form that will not let you 'screw the pooch', i.e., pick both sides of a game, pick a team more than once, or pick a team that's not on the schedule. If a team you're trying to enter is not on the drop-down list, you've probably committed one of the no-no's above. Exit the website, find and correct your mistake, and re-enter your picks from the beginning. Never backtrack and change an entry - it won't work.

The Wizard
This is a weekly distribution table that summarizes which teams everybody picked and at which point values they picked them.

A quick glance tells you the Bucs are the overwhelming favorite: 30 players picked them while only one player (from Dayton, Ohio) picked the Bengals. One player wasn't sure who would win and threw the game out (the "x").

Say you were one of the two players who picked the Bucs at 14 points. Do you still want them to win? Maybe, maybe not. There are 28 players who picked them higher than you did. If the Bucs lose, you could gain some points on the rest of the field and possibly pick up some bottlecaps. However, if you're playing head-to-head against our diehard from Dayton, you could be a bigger loser than s/he is.

The Wizard shows the "who and where" for all our games each week. Don't get caught cheering for the wrong team. Even though you picked a team to win, you may want them to lose.

What If
This little ditty predicts everybody's score and who the winners will be depending upon which teams win the Sun nite game and Mon Nite Football. It'll be available on the website about 15 min after all the Sun 4 o'clock games are over.

Tiebreakers
When you enter your weekly picks, you'll also be required to select a tiebreaker. This will normally be the Mon night game. If it's a different game, we'll let you know. You'll predict the [1] winning team and [2] total game points.

If there's still a tie, the winner will be the player with the least # of games lost that week. If there's still a tie, it's a split.

Head-to-Head Competition
There will be twelve players that make it to the 12-Player Playoffs to compete for a bonus pot of bottlecaps. These will be the 12 players (6 from each conference) with the best won/lost records at the end of the regular season - just like the pro's.

The 12 players will be the 4 division champs in each conference that have the best head-to-head won/lost records for their respective divisions. The 2 wild card players will have the best head-to-head records outside the divsion champs and can be from any division. Again, just like the pro's.

In the event of a tied won/lost record between two (or among three or more) players, the player with the lower/lowest total season points is the winner. If there's still a tie, it's a split.
